You need to install windows on the boot camp partition of your computer. If you have not created this partition, you do so by using the boot camp assistant found in the utilities section of Mac OSX. (Go to the finder and search boot camp utility). I usually split my disk in half using the boot camp assistant. I would recommend installing windows 7, not 8. If you already have Windows installed, just install v6 the way you normally would install any program.

To be a bit clearer, you need to install the Bernina software when you are booted up in Windows. Bernina Software does not install when you are using the Mac OS. To open your computer as a"Windows" computer, you hold down the "option" key when you first power up the computer. Then you select the disk which reads "boot camp" or "windows". The computer will then start up in the Windows operating environment. You are good to go.
I use VMWare's Fusion program to run Windows on my MAC. The program installs on your MAC just like any other program and will automate the rest for you. When you need to run Windows, you just click the icon on your MAC screen, just like any other MAC program and you can run both your MAC and Windows side by side. Don't know what in the world I would do without the Fusion program! Worth every cent, it really is. It will make running both systems a breeze for you! Hope this helps!
